VAF Patek Philippe Ultimate Custom Made Nautilus 5712 Blue Dial on SS Bracelet A240 Super Engraved Edition

Patek Philippe Nautilus 5712 Tiffany & Co. Edition

The Tiffany-signed Nautilus retains the classic 5712 layout: a 40 mm stainless-steel case with Patek’s signature porthole bezel and integrated bracelet. Its dial is a deep blue sunburst (fumé) gradient with horizontal embossed stripes, featuring the usual Nautilus complications. At 10–11 o’clock there is a fan-shaped power‑reserve indicator, at 6–7 o’clock an analog date hand encircling a moonphase window, and a small seconds subdial at 4 o’clock. The applied hour markers and hands are white gold with luminescent coating for low-light legibility. Uniquely, this edition’s dial is stamped “Tiffany & Co.” (alongside “Patek Philippe”), a rare retailer mark on a Patek dial. The stainless case is slim (about 8.5 mm thick) with fine brushed surfaces and polished bevels typical of Nautilus finishing.

Movement and Technical Specifications

  • Caliber: The watch houses Patek’s ultra‑thin Caliber 240 PS IRM C LU (31 mm diameter, only 3.98 mm thick). This automatic movement uses a 22K gold off-center micro-rotor (visible under the display back) and is finished with Côtes de Genève and chamfered edges.

  • Jewels/Parts: 265 components, 29 jewels. It carries the Patek Philippe quality seal.

  • Power Reserve: ~48 hours (38–48 h stated range). The power reserve gauge on the dial indicates remaining wind.

  • Complications: Analog date (pointer style), moon phase, power-reserve indicator, and small seconds. These functions are all driven by the 240 PS IRM C LU caliber.

  • Materials: 40 mm case and bracelet in stainless steel; dial in lacquered blue/gray with Tiffany signature; white-gold applied indices and hands; sapphire crystals front/back.

Rarity and Investment Value

This Tiffany‑stamped Nautilus is extremely rare and collectible. Auction catalogues emphasize the Tiffany double-stamp as its defining feature. Production is believed to have been very limited – one seller notes an “estimated production as low as 50 pieces” with the Tiffany retailer stamp. Sotheby’s and Ineichen describe these watches as “rare, important and charismatic” and stress their soaring market demand. Recent auction results confirm this. For example, Ineichen sold a steel 5712 Tiffany (circa 2012) for CHF 290,000 (about $320,000) in 2023. Industry guides note Tiffany-dial 5712s trade in the mid-six‑figure range (~$220k–$300k), far above the original retail price. In short, collector enthusiasm is high – Tiffany-signed Nautili (especially post-5711 “Tiffany Blue” hype) are in “gold rush” territory and continue to command “extraordinary and increasing prices”.

Official Release and Availability

No formal press release was issued for this edition; it appears to have been quietly produced for Tiffany boutiques. Auction records suggest the Tiffany 5712 was made around 2011–2013 (likely circa 2012). It was sold exclusively through Tiffany & Co. salons in the U.S. – notably Tiffany’s New York 5th Avenue store (Tiffany is “the only retailer in America whose name appears on a Patek Philippe dial,” Tiffany notes). Watches came with co-branded packaging (Tiffany blue outer box and Patek certificate stamped by Tiffany). The steel 5712/1A-001 had a list price in line with the standard Nautilus (on the order of ~$50,000 USD in recent years, but since the watch was discontinued it has never been widely available at retail. Patek silently discontinued the 5712/1A-001 in early 2025. Today the Tiffany-dial model is only obtainable on the secondary market, where prices far exceed original retail.
