The RM 055, often called the "White Legend," is a masterclass in Richard Mille’s "racing machine on the wrist" philosophy, defined by its stark, clinical white aesthetic.

  • ATZ Ceramic Bezel: The striking white top and bottom bezels are crafted from ATZ (Alumina Toughened Zirconia). Created by injecting aluminum oxide powder at 2,000 bars of pressure, this material is diamond-hard (1,400 Vickers), ensuring it remains virtually scratch-proof and never loses its pristine color.
  • Rubberized Titanium Caseband: The middle section is Grade 5 titanium encased in a thin layer of white rubber. This provides a soft tactile feel against the skin while acting as an additional insulator against micro-vibrations.
  • Featherweight Ergonomics: Despite its bold 
     dimensions, the watch is incredibly light. Its tonneau shape is curved to sit flush against the wrist, making it one of the most comfortable high-performance sports watches ever made.
Movement & Performance
Nicknamed the "Baby Bubba," the RM 055 was built to survive the extreme physical demands of a professional golf swing, mirroring the DNA of the million-dollar RM 038 tourbillon.
  • Calibre RMUL2: This manual-winding skeletonized movement weighs a mere 4.3 grams. The baseplate and bridges are made of Grade 5 titanium with a black PVD and Titalyte treatment, creating a deep visual contrast against the white case.
  • Suspended Architecture: The movement is not screwed directly into the case; instead, it is secured by four transparent elastomer shock absorbers. This "floating" design allows the watch to withstand accelerations of over 500 G’s.
  • Dual Barrel System: It features a 55-hour power reserve. The twin-barrel system helps improve torque stability over the long term, ensuring the movement remains accurate even as the power winds down.
