VAF Custom Made Richard Mille RM67-02 Lando Norris NTPT Carbon CRMA7 Skeleton Super Clone
Richard Mille RM 67-02 Lando Norris (McLaren Edition) – Detailed Review
Design & Materials: The RM 67-02 Lando Norris is a special McLaren team edition of Richard Mille’s ultra-light “Extra Flat” tonneau watch. Its case is made of layered TPT® composites – a Carbon TPT® middle “caseband” sandwiched between Quartz TPT® bezel and caseback. The result is a striking damascene pattern of black carbon and colored quartz. The curved tonneau case (38.7 × 47.5 mm, 7.8 mm thick) is very slim and contoured to the wrist. The skeletonized dial is a 0.40 mm titanium sheet coated in black DLC, with geometries echoing the movement. It is hand-painted in partner colors – for Norris’s edition this means bold McLaren “Papaya” orange accents (strap and dial highlights) that reflect his team’s livery and Lando’s preference for bright sportiness. The minimalist dial shows only hours and minutes (no date or sub-dials), emphasizing a racing-inspired, high-tech look. The watch has a new “comfort” elastic strap – the first of its kind for Richard Mille – made of highly elastic, non-slip textile/rubber material that fully conforms to the wrist. Norris’s model was seen with a bright orange strap (matching McLaren colors). Overall the Lando Norris edition is flamboyant and athletic: Richard Mille themselves describe the 67-02 as “thin, lightweight, coloured, elegant and athletic” and nearly a “second skin” on the wrist.
Movement & Technical Specs: Powering the RM 67-02 is the in-house Caliber CRMA7, a skeletonized automatic-winding movement. It runs at 4 Hz (28,800 vph) and delivers about 50 hours of power reserve. The movement is extremely light and robust: the baseplate and bridges are in grade-5 titanium with black/gray DLC finishing, giving rigidity and strength while keeping weight to a minimum. The movement architecture uses an optimized involute-gear train and a faster-turning mainspring barrel for improved winding efficiency and torque transmission, ensuring stable performance throughout the 50h reserve. The balance wheel is free-sprung with four inertia screws (CuBe alloy, AK3 balance spring, Incabloc shock protection) for chronometric stability under shock.
The rotor is specially light: it is made of Carbon TPT® and 22k white gold, with a one-way winding system (ceramic bearings) that efficiently winds the barrel while keeping overall thickness down. The automatic winding, combined with the thinness of the movement (4.00 mm) and case, make the RM 67-02 one of the leanest self-winding watches. Every component is finely finished by hand (beveling, anglage, microblasting) to RM standards. (For comparison, the predecessor RM 67-01 used a platinum rotor and added a date and function indicator, whereas the 67-02 drops those features for maximal lightness and sport adaptability).
Wearability & Ergonomics: The watch is famously featherweight – only ~32 grams total with strap. On the wrist it “feels like 2 grams,” as Norris quips. Its extremely low mass, curved tonneau shape, and soft elastic strap combine to make it feel almost like part of the wrist rather than a foreign object. The strap is seamless and elastic (with no buckle edge digging in), so it flexes freely during activity. At only 7.8 mm thick, the watch wears very flat, and its comfortable, snug fit means it never slides or spins (a plus during sports). McLaren notes that the design goal was a “second skin” for athletes. Indeed, Norris says he wears it for everything from racing to golf because it barely feels there. Despite the ultra-thin profile, the watch is water-resistant to 30 m, so it’s fine for splashes (though not intended as a dive watch). In short, ergonomically the RM 67-02 Lando Norris is superbly comfortable and sporty, tailored for active use – exactly as a high-end sports watch should be.
Pricing & Availability: The RM 67-02 “Lando Norris” edition is not sold commercially. It is a highly limited McLaren team edition (reportedly only ~14 pieces made for the team’s drivers). These Lando/McLaren pieces were presented to Norris (and teammates); they never had a public retail price. By contrast, the general RM 67-02 model originally retailed around US$120,500 (in 2017). (In today’s market, that base price has skyrocketed: most RM 67-02 variants now trade on the secondary market in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.) For example, one RM 67-02 athlete edition (used) is listed around $330,000. Norris’s own stolen Richard Mille (an earlier 67-02 edition) was insured at roughly $180,000, reflecting steep premiums for exclusivity. In practice, the Lando Norris RM 67-02 can only change hands privately (if at all) – it is not available in Richard Mille boutiques or boutiques.
Comparison: Technically and mechanically, the Lando Norris edition is identical to any other RM 67-02: same CRMA7 movement, same dimensions and weight, same grade-5 titanium parts, carbon/quartz case, etc. The only differences among 67-02 variants are aesthetic. For instance, the Wayde van Niekerk (South African sprinter) “Sprint” model is tinted yellow & green Quartz TPT with flag colors, while the Mutaz Barshim “High Jump” has crimson accents. Leclerc’s (Ferrari) RM 67-02 “Alexander Zverev” edition uses red/white Quartz, and so on. In every case, the movement specs remain 50 h/4 Hz/25 jewels and the watch weighs ~32 g. Compared to the RM 67-01 (its non-sports predecessor), the 67-02 is slightly larger but even lighter, and it omits the date and function indicator to save weight. Against other Richard Mille sports watches: the RM 35-02 (Nadal) is a manual-wind tourbillon (ultra-light ~18–20g) – even lighter but without automatic winding; the RM 72 Chronograph Norris wears has a split-seconds mechanism and is much more complex/heavy; the RM 50-03 McLaren F1 is a double-tourbillon chrono featherweight (~40g) – more intricate but rarer. In summary, the Lando 67-02 sits at the top end of RM’s sports time-only models: it shares RM’s ultra-light ethos with the very lightest watches but adds the convenience of automatic winding. Its pricing is also in line with other RM-67-02 special editions (hundreds of thousands, far above typical RM sports watches, reflecting its exclusivity).

Verdict: The RM 67-02 Lando Norris is a technical showpiece for the wealthy enthusiast or collector who values extreme engineering and exclusivity. It’s best suited for high-end sports-watch aficionados (especially Formula 1 fans or Richard Mille collectors) and athletes who want a virtually weightless luxury timepiece. Its bold orange design appeals to younger, fashion-forward wearers aligned with McLaren or Norris. Because it’s not commercially sold, however, ownership is limited to a privileged few; for most people the base RM 67-02 model offers similar performance. In essence, this edition excels as a “halo” racing watch: ultra-light and sporty for high-adrenaline wear, but so rare and expensive that it’s really a collector’s item or status symbol.
