How can we distinguish between the 4131 movement and the 4802 movement in the VS factory Rolex Panda Daytona? Today, I brought you the new white Panda and black Panda, also known as Black Ceramic Daytona, from SB Factory, which is the VS factory. The label with a red "A" uses the Dandong 4131 movement. The version without the label is the lower version, which is equipped with the Dandong 4802 movement. Let's see the differences.

The most straightforward way to distinguish between the 4131 and 4802 movements is by looking at the label on the movement. The 4131 movement usually has a red "A" label, while the 4802 movement does not. This makes it easy to tell them apart. However, for the lower version without the label, other methods are needed to identify it.
Besides the label, there are also some differences in performance and design between the 4131 and 4802 movements. The 4131 movement is relatively accurate and stable, while the 4802 movement may have some performance differences. Therefore, if you want to ensure you purchase a high-quality Panda Daytona, it is recommended to choose the style equipped with the 4131 movement.
Firstly, in terms of price, the 4802 movement version is around US$300.00 cheaper than the 4131 movement watch. However, the watch and bracelet, as well as the craftsmanship of the mirror and hands, are exactly the same. Let's see the differences. First, we measure its size with calipers. The thickness of the 4802 movement is less than 12mm. Let's look at the Dandong 4131 movement. The thickness is also the same. Let's look at the weight of the whole watch. The Dandong 4131 movement is 143.7g, while the 4802 movement is 139.6g, so it is 4g lighter, possibly due to some skeletonized processing inside the movement, making it a bit lighter.
Let's compare the window, hands, and mirror. The edge of the mirror is exactly the same, and the craftsmanship of the bracelet is the same. The case back and printing are also identical, and so is the pinion axis of the hands. When I compare it myself, the difference in the cheaper version is that its internal shadow is slightly off-center. I don't know if it was chosen and installed in this lower version or due to minimal quality control, but the white Panda doesn't have this issue.
The function of the movements is the same. Let's look at the time adjustment. When pulled out, it also rotates clockwise. The sensation is different. The 4802 movement feels like the touch of a 7750. Its mainspring makes a rustling sound, while the 4131 has the sound of a rotor, which is lighter and less sandy. The 4802 movement is noisier than the 4131 movement. Especially when it vibrates, it generally vibrates. If you always feel that it will shake, it will be much heavier, while the other will be much lighter. A very light sound, so its algorithm is unidirectional, which is the difference between the two directions.
In addition, the structure will also be a bit different. The 4802 movement is a combination of the 7750 movement and the previous 4131 movement. The 4802's torsion spring button structure is the same as the 7750 movement, using a spring structure. This is also launched by Dandong and is used in many chronograph watches with high cost performance.
